Elder law attorney Anthony J. Enea, managing partner at Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP in White Plains and Somers, N.Y., will lecture on the consequences of the unauthorized practice of law at the annual meeting of the National Association of Elder Law Attorney’s New York Chapter. Enea, a past president of the organization, will address the practical and legal implications of non-attorneys providing Medicaid planning services.
The program, “The Intersection of the Unlicensed Practice of Law and Unregulated Benefits Planning,” marks the latest speaking engagement for Anthony J. Enea, who has spent nearly three decades protecting the rights of seniors, the disabled and their families.
Named Westchester County’s Leading Elder Care Attorney at the Above the Bar Awards, Mr. Enea is the past chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section. His practice areas include elder law; Medicaid planning and applications; special needs planning; wills, trusts and estates; guardianships and estate litigation. He was named Best Lawyers’ 2016 Elder Law “Lawyer of the Year” in White Plains, a Top 25 “Super Lawyer” in Westchester County, and is currently president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation.
The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. was founded in 1987 as a professional association of attorneys who are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to people as they age and people with special needs. Membership is comprised of attorneys in the private and public sectors who deal with legal issues affecting people as they age and people with disabilities. Members also include judges, professors of law, and students.
